My practice looks at the hijacking of the natural world and the human-built world by the modern market system. I see Artificial Intelligence and climate change as by-products of the hijack and have developed three umbrella projects to explore them: It Started With a Kiss, Water Systems and A Dark Comedy in Pastels.
o Water Systems looks at getting water and shelter to animals in times of drought.
o It Started With a Kiss looks at information space and the expanding influence of form over content in the human built world.
o A Dark Comedy in Pastels plays with the human shift of mind and environment from Culture/ Nature to Culture/ Culture.
The projects are mutable and ideas and forms of expression jump around between them.
I also work at Māpura Studios in Auckland; Māpura is an outsider art studio for artists living with adversity and disability.
